Updated: Jul 30

As a partner organization, Kratos Sports Society successfully completed the Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project titled “A Cultural Case: Sports” (2025-1-AT01-KA153-YOU-000299955), which was implemented between 14 and 22 September 2025. The project was coordinated by FI Gesundheits- und Sportverein from Austria, with the participation of project partners Türkiye, Spain, Hollanda, Hungary.
Throughout the project, youth workers from different countries came together to explore how sport is not only a physical activity but also a powerful reflection of cultural values, traditions, and social perspectives. By examining traditional sports from various countries, participants gained a deeper understanding of the strong connection between culture and sport while discovering how sporting practices can reflect the historical and social identity of communities.
The daily exercise and Zumba sessions provided participants with the opportunity to experience firsthand the physical and mental benefits of regular physical activity. These activities highlighted the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle and encouraged participants to integrate healthy sporting habits into their daily routines.
Informative sessions on the Erasmus+ Programme and the Youthpass Certificate increased participants’ awareness of European youth opportunities and non-formal learning processes. Participants learned about the value of Youthpass in recognizing learning outcomes and supporting personal and professional development within the youth sector.
One of the most engaging components of the project was the series of cultural sharing days dedicated to the traditional sports of the partner countries. Each participating country presented its own traditional sports and games through practical activities, creating an interactive environment for intercultural learning. These exchanges enabled participants to develop greater appreciation for cultural diversity and to recognize traditional sports as an important part of cultural heritage.
The project also placed significant emphasis on environmental sustainability. Through environmental awareness activities, recycling initiatives, and creative workshops using recyclable materials, participants gained valuable knowledge about waste management, environmental responsibility, and sustainable practices. These activities demonstrated how youth projects can successfully combine sport, culture, and environmental awareness within a single learning experience.
One of the most important outcomes of the project was the transformation in participants’ perspectives on sport. Youth workers began to view sport not only as a tool for physical development but also as a means of promoting intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, community engagement, and mutual understanding. The methods, practices, and experiences gained during the project will support participants in developing more effective and innovative activities for young people in their local communities.
Through “A Cultural Case: Sports,” participants gained a stronger appreciation of traditional sports as a valuable element of cultural heritage and recognized sport as a universal language capable of bringing people together across cultural boundaries. The international partnerships, intercultural learning experiences, and exchange of good practices established throughout the project have laid a strong foundation for future cooperation and youth work initiatives.
As Kratos Sports Society, we are proud to have been part of this meaningful partnership and believe that the knowledge, experiences, and friendships created during the project will continue to inspire youth workers and young people long after the project’s completion.
